TitleReferee's report by Augustus Edward Hough Love, on a paper 'Newtons rings formed by metallic reflection' by Professor Richard C Maclaurin
Date18 January 1905
DescriptionRecommends the paper be published in the new Proceedings. It is the best treatment he has seen of the 'layer of transition' theory of reflexion. The method of approximation adopted is ingenious and original and has the merit of being very clearly expressed and leading to good results. If Maclaurin lived nearer than New Zealand, Love would suggest condensing the first three pages and the upper part of the fourth into about one page as this information is well known and serves only to define the author's notation.
