TitleReferee's report by Robert John Strutt, Lord Rayleigh, on a paper 'The pressure of explosions: experiments on solid and gaseous explosives' by Joseph Ernest Petavel
Date19 September 1905
DescriptionSectional Committee: Physics and Chemistry

Recommended for publication in Philosophical Transactions. Modification is not discussed. Most or all of the illustrations are necessary. The work covers to a considerable extent the same ground as that of Holden, but Holden's work has not been published, as far as he knows. It should be made clear that cordite mark I was used, not 'M.D.', if this was so. [Latter point annotated as sent to author 3 November 1905].

[Published in Proceedings of the Royal Society A, 1905].
