TitleLetter from Thomas Gold to Dr John V Evans, Massachusetts Institute of Technology, Lincoln Laboratory, Lexington 73, Massachusetts
Date18 March 1964
DescriptionThanks Evans for a draft paper. Discusses the dielectric constants of meteoritic materials and the lunar surface. Notes possible variations in the packing density of lunar dust. The Tycho result prompted Gold to discuss the deposition process. Later processes have not yet occurred in this relatively young crater. Gold notes his own contribution to identifying the cause of darkening in the lunar surface. He will write again when he has digested the paper more and discussed it with Pettengill and would like to get Evans to Ithaca for further debate.
