States not only will there be no new NASA program, but almost all university support is in danger of being cut off - to pay for the Shuttle, assumed by Congress to be money spend in support of science. If they think Congress should know that the Shuttle, with its 6 and a half billion development pricetag, is not regarded as a primary science support item, please write to their Congressman, Senator, or the Chairman of the Space Appropriations Sub-committee of the Senate, Senator William Proxmire, and or the ranking minority membver of the at committee, Senator Charles Mc Matthias.
