TitleLetter from Thomas Gold to Dr Noel W Hinners, Associate Director for Space Science, Code SL, NASA Headquarters, Washington DC
Date13 February 1976
DescriptionHas Hinners letter of 9 January and the supplememntal letter from Dr Flinn, both vconcerning his proposal to investigate the occurrence and distribution of certain surface features on the Moon. Their comments no doubt reflect those of some of the reviewers, and Gold is quite familiar with the antagonism with which such a proposal would be greeted in some quarters, since it focuses on the features that do not fit into the preferred set of explanations. He goes on to emphasize some points to make clear why he considers this case to be a very clear example of the kind of tendentiousness that characterizes major parts of the lunar program.
