TitleLetter from Thomas Gold to Mr Simon Mitton, The Observatories, Institute of Astronomy, Madingley Road, Cambridge, CB3 0HA, England
Date29 December 1976
DescriptionIs happy to reply to Mitton's letter especially since he possesse fairly clear memories of the pulsar discovery period. Gives his account, starting in May 1968.

States he had virtually no supporters for his point of view and anextremely fierce opposition, right until the discovery of the Crab pulsar. Then suddenly it was, as Mitton says, 'obvious all along'.
