TitleLetter from Elizabeth Bilson to Mr George Bryan, Lamont-Doherty Geological Observatory, Palisades, New York
Date14 November 1978
Descriptionit has come to their attention that he and his research group have conducted tests on methane hydrates which are suspected to exist as deposits beneath the sea or beneath permafrost layers. Their present research programme, directed by Dr Thomas Gold, is focused on terrestrial sources of carbon and carbon outgassing, and they would be interested in information concerning the temperature and pressure conditions under which solid methane hydrates occur naturally. Asks if he could indicate whether he has any publications in this field or could point out some useful references on the properties of these compoounds.
