Also includes copies of letters to various individuals and organisations from: his secretaries, Valerie Sorenson, Susan Hoy, June Franklin, Carvel Beyer and Carvel Flood; Gregory J Williams, Senior Research Aide; F D Drake, Director, AIO [Arecibo Ionospheric Observatory]. The file is indexed by the names of the recipients of the letters. The letters were numbered by Gold or a secretary from 1 to 459 (there is no letter numbered 253). There are some letters at the back of the file along with a note stating that they are 'undated papers before June 5, 1967'. However, the first letter after the note dates from 4 November 1966. These letters have been numbered from 1a to 1s by the Archive.
