Also contains a copy of a letter from Thomas Gold to R D Davies, 5 Feb 1985, thanking him for letting him know that he had been awarded the medal. Also includes letters and a telex congratulating Thomas Gold on being awarded the Gold Medal, Jan-April 1985. There are also copies of a transcript of the presentation of the medal on 8 March 1985 by the President of the Society, Professor Donald Lynden-Bell, and a newscutting about Gold being awarded the medal.
