DescriptionThe files contain faxes, e-mails and letters to Thomas Gold from numerous individuals and organisations, Mar 1997, Nov 1998-May 1999. The files also contain faxes, e-mails and copies of letters from Thomas Gold to various individuals and organisations, Mar 1996, Jan-May 1999. The letters, faxes and e-mails cover various matters e.g. letter to Hermann Bondi, 17 Apr 1999, about the Big Bang theory. The letter goes on to say that Gold was writing about 'Mach’s principle in a uniformly expanding universe which then implies that distant objects must be accelerating away from us'. He was also writing about electro-magnetic radiation by Maxwell’s laws connecting 'the emission point of an emitted photon with the reception point of a received photon' (805); fax about what he thought were the ten possible candidates for a deep biosphere in our solar system (781). The letters, faxes and e-mails have been numbered by Gold or a secretary from 781 to 810. They are not indexed and were originally stored in a hanging file.
