OtherInfoOne of his publications, 'The Craft and Frauds of Physick exposed' (1702), tied in with the controversy regarding the establishment of a dispensary by the College of Physicians in 1696. In his work, Pitt criticised the disparity in prices of some remedies and condemned the use of commonly used therapeutic agents, e.g. bezoar. In a later edition, he added an attack on apothecaries who he accused of pretending to be medical practitioners and making a profit of it.
