OtherInfoUnfortunately, very little is known about King's professional or personal life. It is unclear when he died, although it is certain it must have been after his retirement from Gresham College in 1686. There, he had taken over from Henry Jenkes (FRS 1674). He was never admitted to the Royal Society after his election and remained inactive in its work.
SourceSources:
Bulloch's Roll; Venn; Hunter; Ward; Innes Smith
Notes:
Never appeared on PL; he retired from Gresham College in 1686 so Thomson must be wrong in giving his year of death as 1681. Hunter gives his year of birth as 1649 but BR gives date of baptism as 6 June 1648.
