OtherInfoUnfortunately not much biographical information on Pechlin survives. His medical interests were broad; his dissertation written at Leyden was focused on apoplexia and his later publications involved anatomical, chirurgical, as well as botanical observations and research. He was inactive in the Royal Society after his election.

BR quoting Hirsch gives year of birth as 1644; Hunter and index to BR give 1646. DNB has both although the Kiel Directory of Scholars has 20 December 1646 as date of birth. Swedish Biographical Encyclopaedia has 1640 as approximate year of birth.
