| OtherInfo | Christopher Hooley conducted important work on the analytic theory of numbers, especially in the application of sieve methods. He made extensive studies of these intricate techniques and, as a consequence, succeeded in throwing light on a number of difficult problems. Particularly was is his research on the celebrated conjecture of Artin that concerns primitive roots, and on asymptotic formulae in the additive theory of numbers.
