From the late 1650s, he was a member of the Rota Club, a London debating society which also counted men such as John Aubrey (FRS 1663), Sir John Hoskyns (FRS 1663), William Croone (FRS 1663) and Samuel Pepys (FRS 1665) amongst its members. |
