OtherInfoDuring the Civil War, Robartes fought for the Parliamentary cause and did not return to an active political life until after the Restoration in 1660. His work in his various political roles was criticised, e.g. by Samuel Pepys (FRS 1665) and he did not serve on some of his roles. He was inactive in the work of the Royal Society and was exempt from payment.
