General contextWith blogs appearing to be a popular subject there is a link to King's College Oondon archive project on the personal papers of Maurice Wilkins (1916-2004), the Nobel Prize winning biophysicist. This Wellcome funded cataloguing project aim is to preserve and allow public access to an internationally significant archive charting the experimental work that underpinned the discovery of the double helix to Wilkins's later political activism opposing nuclear proliferation and supporting Third World development in the 1980s. The main purpose of the blog is to demonstrate highlights of the collection and provide a brief historical context of the subjects and themes raised by the documents and images showcased. The blog was set up in August 2010 and has a corresponding Flickr gallery. If you are interested in finding out more about the project or the experimental DNA work achieved at King's please visit the blog at: http://dnaandsocialresponsibility.blogspot.com/
