OtherInfoWhile Harley was a parliamentarian supporter, he was improisoned twice by the army for opposing them. He supported the abolition of episcopacy and was for parliamentary control over the militia. He was noted as being hostile to James II's government and refused a seat on the Privy Council in 1688. Despite his age, he was active on behalf of William of Orange in 1688.
